Unfiltered Thoughts – because you can’t get enough of my voice, surely

First off: yes, I’ve redecorated. I could pass it off as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, but that would be reaching a little far. The real reason I did it was… professionalism? I mean, the blog is now a secondary part of the site, with the front page dedicated to my stupid face and some of things that I’ve done. Professional. I have a degree, so I suppose I should act professional. A proper science communicator. Professional.

Are podcasts professional?

I hope so, because I kind of have a new one. Not really – it’s still a part of The Pseudoscientists (which will have been around for five years in December – I know, it’s freaking me out as well) – but it’s a different enough type of show for me to call it a new podcast.

Unfiltered Thoughts, that’s what it’s called. The gist is me sitting down with a fellow young person (what “young” means is… well, let’s not get into that, I’ve been yelled at enough) and chatting about a particular topic relating to science or skepticism they’re interested in, over a coffee. Do you get the title? Bit of a pun. No Jack and the Beans Talk, mind, but subtle enough to not get it thrown off iTunes.

It’s been going quite well, really, with five episodes released at the time of writing:

Have a listen and let me know what you think! I’ve got more lined up in the future about topics such as “The Media”, “Science Journalism” and even “Pokémon”, so I guarantee it’ll always be interesting. Well, probably.

You can subscribe to The Pseudoscientists (and therefore also Unfiltered Thoughts) on iTunes, or through Libsyn if you prefer good, old-fashioned RSS feeds.
